There will be 5:30 PM services on Friday, August 27, Sunday, August 29, Tuesday, August 31, and again on Friday, September 3. We will resume our regular schedule of 5:30 PM services (as described in the note that immediately follows) starting the week of September 13th. Susan Kasper and Alan Piaker have an upcoming Yahrzeit for their mother, Pauline, and would appreciate your help in making a minyan on Sunday, August 29, at 5:30 PM. Jim Schutzer has an upcoming Yahrzeit for his father, Henry, and would appreciate your help in making a minyan on Tuesday, August 31, at our 5:30 PM service.
Please Note: Larry Hurwitz and Bonnie Rozen are in periods of mourning. Temple Israel currently conducts services at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, and other days at the requests of congregants who have a Yahrzeit. As you know, 10 Jews are required for a minyan; think of yourself as the tenth! Come, and share in this great Mitzvah and wonderful tradition.Your help will be deeply appreciated. Note: There now is sufficient light at 5:30 Pm to enable us to daven MInchah. So.... If you have a Yahrzeit on day X, you may say Kaddish at Minchah on the afternoon of day X, and at Maariv on the evening before day X.
As always, we encourage everyone who has a Yahrzeit to experience the unique affirmation and comfort provided by standing to say Kaddish for your loved one at an afternoon service at Temple Israel. Please contact Steve with the relevant information, and we will help assure a minyan for the service.
